The Appliance fire protection system by Advanced Aircraft Extinguishers, Ltd detects smoke in less than 60 seconds from a small smoldering fire inside an affected unit load device, and automatically discharges a non-toxic extinguishing agent to quickly flood the affected device, extinguishing or suppressing the fire.
At the same time, the Appliance also activates its “built-in” smoke generator releasing agent to the outside of the affected device, which triggers the aircraft’s built-in smoke detectors, providing a much faster alert to the aircraft crew and allowing them additional time to initiate emergency procedures.
